<p>Due to hormonal changes the gums are likely to increase in size and acquire a bright red at the margins. These gums may bleed spontaneously or brushing teeth. It also appears at times a sense of bad breath. With the proper treatment of gums and good oral hygiene situation is completely controllable.</p>
<p>In pregnant patients with advanced and uncontrolled disease of the gums (periodontitis) has detected a relationship to preterm delivery.</p>
