Fish Oil Prevents Dental Disease

Dental examinations revealed that the absence in the diets of people of essential fatty acids omega-3 found in fish oil was strongly associated with the progression of periodontal diseases.

The consumption of yogurt can help prevent dental diseases such as periodontitis. according to an article published in the Journal of Periodontology ‘, said the Plan of Nutrition, Health and Communication Dairy

This beneficial effect of yogurt consumption is associated with microorganisms (Lactobacillus) in yogurt and other dairy products do not contain as milk. Mouth Guard

Sports athletes frequently involves physical contact are vulnerable to experiencing trauma to the teeth. Call it sport boxing, rugby, football and other sports at a higher risk of an accident on the face, mouth and surrounding areas. To protect the teeth and soft tissue if the accident was unavoidable, they invented a tool called a mouth guard. Generally, athletes in certain sports are required to use this tool, and there are also schools that require students to use mouth guard at a particular PE.

Besides the use in sport, mouth guard also has uses in the medical field. This tool can be used as a splint in patients with abnormal jaw joints (temporomandibular / TMJ disorder) and bruxism. Bruxism is a sliver of bad habits, especially during sleep without conscious sleeping that night, and may cause the surface of the teeth become worn. Therefore, mouth guard used to protect teeth. This tool is generally made of plastic material.

Gums During Puberty and Menstruation

As a young woman the system matures during puberty, the production of sex hormones like progesterone, possibly, estrogen levels rise. Rising hormone may cause increased gum sensitivity and lead to an exaggerated reaction to any irritation, including food particles and plaque.

During this time, gums may become swollen, turn red and can be very sensitive. Some women experience symptoms similar to 3 to 4 days before your period, also due to increased amount of progesterone in the system.

Getting Know With Periodontal Disease

The word “periodontal” literally means around the tooth. Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease is a chronic bacterial infection that can damage the gums and bone supporting the teeth. If left untreated, can lead to tooth loss.
The periodontist is a dentist who specialized in the treatment of periodontal disease.

The main cause of periodontal disease is bacteria and toxins that are found in bacterial plaque on teeth, is a sticky film, Yellowish White that constantly forms on teeth. The buildup of this plaque can lead to the initial form of the disease, gingivitis. During this stage, the gum tissue is having inflammation, turn red and bleed easily, causing little or no discomfort. Gingivitis is reversible receiving professional periodontal treatment and good home with good oral hygiene technique. Without this attention, the question will be in risk of developing more severe forms of periodontal disease.
