You also know that distinguish it. You also know that the care of your mouth are important to your health.

In some periods of his life, the woman goes through stages such as puberty, pregnancy and menopause that require some extra care in oral health. These special moments are associated with hormonal changes that affect different parts of bodies. The gum tissue is extremely sensitive to hormonal changes and may therefore encourage even situations that result in the loss of teeth.

What is Gum Disease?
Known popularly as periodontal disease or “pyorrhea”, is a chronic infection caused by bacteria in dental plaque, a sticky, clear film that sticks around teeth constantly. Periodontal disease affects the structures supporting the teeth in the mouth.

The rash begins as gingivitis is not treated, in one of every two women will become a periodontitis extending to the bone around the tooth, which is destroyed irreversibly.

At the end of the teeth is lost. The symptoms of gingivitis are redness and bleeding of the gums, brushing, or spontaneously. Sometimes these symptoms go unnoticed, especially in smokers.

Without an effective oral hygiene, including brushing and cleaning between teeth with floss or interdental brushes and regular visits to the dentist, you run the risk of gum disease. It is important to note that women’s hormonal changes can accelerate or trigger a problem of this type.

“In Mexico 324 plants are used for the treatment of oral diseases like tooth decay, toothache, and periodontal disease (inflammation of gums and gingivitis), which constitute a public health problem in the country,” said Manuel Jimenez-Estrada, researcher Department of Natural Products, Institute of Chemistry (IQ) of the UNAM.

Since prehistoric times, some species of the genus Oxalis, plants with four petals, clover premiums are used as a remedy for diseases of the mouth, the O. cf. albicans against canker, O. and O. latifolia vallicola for stomatitis, and O. tetraphylla to stimulate the secretion of saliva.

Most illnesses, he said, is caused by anaerobic bacteria that require special environments such as the mouth. Tooth decay, caused mainly by Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus spp, and periodontal disease by Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, to mention only two cases.

Due to the recurrence of these evils in Mexico, and the need to have alternatives to cure, Jiménez-Estrada, in collaboration with Rosario and Gloria Ruiz de Esparza Gutierrez, Faculty of Dentistry, designed the project “Mexican plants with activity against bacteria causing oral diseases. ”

“During the summer you should maintain a more intense hygiene of the teeth and mouth, as the temperature increase contributes to the existence of oral disease,” cautioned the Dr. Miguel Angel Saravia Rojas, dean of the Dental Association of Peru (COP).

He said that the growth of bacteria causes diseases occur such as thrush (sores) that affect the mouth, cavities, gingivitis, among others.

“The mouth is the organ that initiates the process of digestion, good care and food intake beneficial during the summer season will help prevent various diseases,” said Dr. Saravia Rojas.

He recommended eating a healthy diet, including fruit juice, vegetables, and plenty of water, as this will help prevent oral diseases. Also reduce the intake of sugary foods and drinks all day, it increases the levels of acid affects the teeth.

Dr. Saravia Rojas said that after eating between meals is necessary to at least rinse your mouth several times. Similarly, brushing before sleeping is important, because at night the acids that destroy the teeth are formed more easily, because the saliva secretion decreases and the anaerobic environment (mouth closed) provides favorable conditions for the proliferation of bacteria.

Finally, recommended to visit the dentist at least once a year, because this will allow early detection of any problems and deal with it, avoiding complications, pain and higher expenditures.

The commonly called Halitosis or bad breath is a common problem in the population. There may be a mild or more severe.

In pharmacies, drugstores and hardware stores sold every day all kinds of products to prevent halitosis. Oral languages, mouthwashes, sprays cliques. The Halitosis is a problem that is concerned with the high demand for treatments for halitosis.

What causes Halitosis?
There are different causes. Occurs bacterial breakdown of food particles that break down into simpler substances, and generate the smell of halitosis.
*From a poor oral hygiene
*Diabetes
*Herpes
*Oral Surgery
*Dental abscesses
*Use of snuff, pepper, onion etc.

The Halitosis may be mild if this straight away in the morning or severe in nature if it is due to have some other disorder such as metabolic disorders, chronic xerostomia or dry mouth.

There is even a disorder called delusional halitosis that can distort the sense of smell of the person concerned, there is a kind of obsession about your mouth odor. Substances such as Bana, Benxolargnina-2-naphthylamide hydrolyzed are useful to determine the levels of chemicals involved in halitosis.

Treating Halitosis
It begins with oral hygiene, and if this fails will be passed to other treatments

A good oral hygiene. This is to cleanse the mouth, teeth, gums, tongue, oral mucosa. It is done with a toothbrush and toothpaste to help reduce plaque. It is advisable to brush your teeth after meals to prevent tooth decay and prevent halitosis. Rinse mouth and use a mouthwash and do not forget to clean the tongue with the brush prevents halitosis.

Flossing: Flossing is useful to prevent plaque formation on the surface of the teeth. Removes debris that are clinging on inter dental spaces. The flossing after every meal is an ideal treatment.
If applied twice a day even better. Prevents the formation of plaque. If spend the floss your gums bleed can be a symptom of having periodontal disease, which is one of the causes of bad breath.

Dental Treatment. If the cause of halitosis is due to dental problems such as a cavity, an abscess, abscess, it first has to solve that problem. Be a filling, a root canal, use of antibiotics for infection. Periodontal disease will be treated as it finds the dentist. Curettage, surgical techniques, oral cleaning etc.

Medical Treatment: Halitosis can be a symptom of disease. 10% can be symptoms of sinusitis, upper respiratory infections, chronic bronchitis, gastric disorders. Kidney disease or liver disease, diabetes etc.

Sometimes taking certain medications affects the production of saliva that may facilitate the development of halitosis. In these cases, try to drink more fluids to stimulate saliva production and use cycles with xylitol.

To prevent and to eliminate the Halitosis. No smoking, drinking alcohol and not abuse of coffee is recommended.

The abscess formation process begins when tooth appears on the access that frees the way for the bacteria to the root of the tooth, either by decay, the most common, or tooth mobility due to periodontal disease.

The bacteria through this open road, to infect the tooth, the pulp, the root and even the adjacent bone. At this point, the infection produces pus that collects in the area causing inflammation of the same accompanied by intense pain.

The main symptoms are:
• Severe pain and throbbing.
• dental hypersensitivity.
• Red, inflamed gums.
• Halitosis and bad taste.
• Fever or mild fever.
• Swollen glands in the neck.
• Swelling of the face area affected by the abscess.

Once you have been diagnosed by a specialist, and perhaps through an X-ray examination to confirm the diagnosis, treatment involves the administration by prescription of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory, and also benefit, make mouthwash with warm water and salt.

Later, when the inflammation has subsided, it is necessary to return to the appropriate specialist for proper treatment on the affected tooth, usually performed a root canal, fillings, or cap, as needed.

Dental plaque is made up of invisible masses of harmful germs that are the mouth and stick to the teeth. Some types of plaque cause tooth decay. Other types of plaque cause gum disease.

The gums red, swollen or bleeding may be early signs of gum disease. If gum disease is ignored, the tissues that hold teeth in place are destroyed and eventually lose their teeth.

Plaque can hardly be seen, unless it is dyed. You can color the plaque by chewing red tablets a “revealing” toothpastes sold at grocery stores or pharmacies. You can also use a green food coloring. Red or green stain and is impregnated in the teeth shows where there is still plaque and where should you keep brushing to remove it.

Color case and examine your teeth regularly to make sure you are removing all plaque.

You ask your dentist or dental hygienist if your plaque removal techniques are effective.
